Job Description

This is a great opportunity you to drive the design cycle of a medical device from the design phase to production-ready manufacturing. You will be responsible for different engineering aspects of a clinical-use instrumentation such as PCB design, instrument prototyping, firmware programming, system debugging, as well as final product verification and the design for manufacturability. You will also work within the framework of our well-defined product life cycle: product requirement, prototype, design, verification, validation, production, and any regulatory requirement for clinical devices.

Affinité Instruments’ biosensing technology addresses global challenges of accessibility to bio-testing faced by both researchers and clinicians alike in the clinical setting. This position represents for you a great opportunity for both personal and professional development. Your daily responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • system design projects to develop, test and manufacture clinical instrumentation which may include analog/optical circuitry, AD/DA, firware programming and GUI

  • propose improvement or new designs validated through proof-of-concept prototypes with commercialization in mind

  • work closely with HW and SW lead engineers

  • particpate in defining and maintaining company Quality Management System to ensure best-practice verification and validation procedures as well as standard documentation for regulatory requirement such as ISO13485, Health Canada and FDA

Qualifications & Experiences

The following set of skills will be required to fulfill your role as an effective instrumentation production engineer:  

  • minimum one year of validated design experiences in optoelectronics and analog circuits

  • good theoretical and practical knowledge in ADC/DAC, optical components, filtering (analog and optical), and control feedback systems

  • excellent digital signal processing knowledge

  • analog PCB board design, simulation and layout

  • C/C++, Python. Matlab and LabVIEW a big plus
